ADRP is pleased to continue [email protected], a conference-within-a-conference designed by and for executive-level donor relations professionals. This is an excellent opportunity for top-level donor relations professionals to join staff members attending the ADRP International Conference in Albuquerque. [email protected] will run concurrently with the first full day of the conference on September 23, 2020.

[email protected] is a one-of-a-kind opportunity intended to address the unique needs and interests of experienced leaders in the field of donor relations. It brings together qualified senior donor relations professionals for interactive, open conversations about shared pressing issues, executive professional development, and the big ideas and influences shaping the future of fundraising and our field.

As a benefit of everyone, insights and highlights from [email protected] conversations will be shared with conference attendees during a session later in the conference.

Apply to Attend [email protected]
We ask everyone to fill out the 2020 application, even if you attended a previous [email protected] session. We understand that given these unsettled, rapidly evolving times we're in, you may not be able to commit to future professional development activities pre-COVID-19. We encourage everyone who is interested in participating in [email protected] programming to apply, and we will work with all accepted participants to accommodate changes in ability to attend the in person conference as circumstances continue to evolve.

Application Process

Participation in [email protected] is based on meeting the following criteria:

  • You have 10 years or more experience in Donor Relations

AND

  • You meet at least one (1) of the following criteria in your current role:
    • You set the priorities and role definitions for donor relations staff at your institution
    • You are part of your organization's senior management team
    • You are a frequent speaker or content provider for donor relations audiences beyond your own institution

What is [email protected]?
[email protected] is an all-day series of programming held on the first day of the ADRP International Conference in Albuquerque on September 23, 2020. This full-day session is designed by and for executive-level donor relations professionals who are established leaders within their institutions and across the industry. 

[email protected] is a one-of-a-kind opportunity intended to address the unique needs and interests of experienced leaders in the field of donor relations. It brings together qualified senior donor relations professionals for interactive, open conversations about shared pressing issues, executive professional development, and the big ideas and influences shaping the future of fundraising and our field.

Is there a separate fee for [email protected]?
No, participation in [email protected] is included in the registration fee for the International Conference.

Where will [email protected] occur?
[email protected] will take place in the same location as the International Conference, however, in a space specifically set aside for the [email protected] program.

What is the agenda for the day?
While the specifics of the agenda are still in development, the focus of [email protected] is on the conversation between executive-level peers. Thought leaders from within and outside the profession will discuss emerging ideas in philanthropy and their effect on donor relations.  Attendees will have abundant opportunity for sharing and learning from peers across a variety of sectors about the day-to-day issues, trends, and personal and professional challenges that affect the work of tenured executive and senior leaders. Critical insights and take-aways identified by [email protected] attendees will be compiled and shared in a special session on the last day of the conference for all conference-goers to participate in. This will allow International Conference attendees to benefit from the collective experience of [email protected] attendees and hear their thoughts on the future and trends of the profession.

How do I sign up?
Prospective attendees must apply for consideration, and participation in [email protected] is contingent upon committee approval. This ensures: 

  1. Attendees are of similar experience, level of responsibilities, and strategic vision, and
  2. A good balance of industry sectors represented so that all attendees have a meaningful experience.

The application process is separate from the general International Conference registration process. Applicants must submit an application form. Attendees will be notified of acceptance in mid-July.

What are the qualifications to attend?
Qualified participants meet both of the following criteria:

  1. Have at least 10 years of experience in donor relations
  2. Meet at least one of the following:
    1. Set the priorities and role definitions for donor relations staff at their institution
    2. Are part of their organization’s senior management team for fundraising/development
    3. Are a frequent speaker or content provider for donor relations audiences beyond their own institution.

To encourage attendees to speak openly and honestly, only one person from an institution will be accepted.

How does this affect my attendance at the International Conference?
Senior leaders who are accepted will attend [email protected] in lieu of their first-day sessions at the International Conference. This will not affect the rest of your plans for the conference.  If you are also presenting at the Conference, every effort will be made to plan your session for day 2 or 3. 

How many senior leaders can attend?
Attendance will be limited to 50 participants to ensure robust conversation.
